Olga Polizzi’s enviable style and passion for the industry have transformed Tresanton, a former yacht club, and Endsleigh, the hunting and fishing lodge of the 6th Duke of Bedford, in two of the most stylish retreats in England. Set in picture perfect surroundings , one hour drive away from each other, the hotels offer a delightful combination of British seaside chic and gentrified country idyll in a comfortable and effortlessly elegant environment. Olga Polizzi’s Hotel Tresanton, is located at the tip of the untouched Roseland peninsula in the picturesque village of St Mawes and offers breathtaking views across the sea and Falmouth bay, one of the best sailing areas in England. In 1997, Olga bought and restored the former yachtsman’s club and transformed it into one of "Britain' sexiest hotel". The style is an eclectic blend of old and new, reviving the casual but elegant atmosphere of a seaside retreat. All 30 rooms and suites, some with their own terrace, have been individually furnished with antiques and Cornish art. The restaurant is bright and airy with terraces overlooking the sea and is well known for its fresh local produce. In addition to its cosy bar with a nautical feel, Hotel Tresanton has a spacious lounge with a log burning fire, a private cinema, a playroom and a children’s garden with its own Wendy house. Available to Tresanton's guest is also the stylish 8m classic sailing yacht, Pinuccia, built in Italy in 1838 to race in the world cup. Sumptuous picnics and champagne can be organised on board or taken to the many beaches nearby.

Olga Polizzi first viewed Endsleigh House nine years ago and was bowled over, but as an expert hotelier, she thought it was a daunting project which made no business sense. Then she read an article in Country Life magazine, reporting that the property was threatened and must be saved for the nation. She had to buy it and opened Hotel Endsleigh, after a meticulous restoration, in 2005. The location is breathtaking – in a secret valley, with stunning views over the Tamar Valley and beyond into Cornwall. The hotel is set in 108 acres of fairytale woodland and surrounded by beautiful gardens and grottos designed by Humphry Repton in 1814. Despite the extensive gardens, Endsleigh is an intimate 16 rooms hotel and one of the most important regency country houses remaining in England. Original pieces and artwork are cleverly mixed with contemporary luxury. The 3 suites and 13 rooms feature antique furniture, fine linens and rolltop-baths; some have the original hand painted wallpaper once enjoyed by prestigious guests such as Queen Victoria, and most have magnificent views of the gardens and the bright green undulating landscape Devon is famous for. The old Duke's dining room, decorated with the crests of the Bedford family and friends, serves seasonal dishes prepared with local sourced produced from the land and sea. In the summer months the languorous terraces open for al fresco peaceful dining. In winter, one can relax in front of one of the giant fireplaces with a glass of champagne or a scrumptious afternoon tea, reading a book from the extensive library. Shooting, Fishing, hiking in the Dartmoor, horse-riding, falconry, clay pigeon shooting, croquet, table tennis are some of the many activities offered at the hotel.
